“If we have an expensive research product that’s only available to a small number of people, that’s not going to move the needle,” said Dr. Andrew Herring, medical director of the Alameda Health System Bridge Clinic. “I love anything spent on trying to figure out this disease and think it’s fantastic. But that’s not going to help the sons and daughters and mothers and husbands and fathers who are dying every single day right now.”
